If you're lucky to be born Irish, you're lucky enough.

I read this saying and I really liked it. I figured we could all use a little Irish luck as we start a new month and as we approach tax season. Is it just me or do you also think of Lucky Charms and Pot of Gold chocolate when you think Irish?! These photos were taken in Northern Ireland at Giant's Causeway: 'Geological phenomenon on the North Antrim coast renowned for its polygonal columns of layered basalt, the only World Heritage Site in Ireland'.

Geneva Pier

One of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. Perhaps it has something to do with the UN presence. There is something peaceful I find in swans. I think it's because as a kid one of my favourite novels was The Trumpeter of the Swan. It was very inspiring to read as a child. Hope you all have a fantastic week.

Spice Bazaar

Hope you are all having a calm Sunday. I have two friends in town visiting from Germany and I woke up realizing why I stopped partying so much....I feel so useless the following day. But you only live once (or so they say) so might as well have fun with the people you love. These pictures were taken at the spice bazaar in Istanbul. So the key thing I learned that day is negotiate negotiate and even when the price is reasonable negotiate and then pretend to walk away. It's like dating really. Playing hard to get. My dear friend bought some caviar and as a present the shop owner gave the product seen in the last photo. We came to buy spices and I guess this will spice up our lives.

These shoes are made for walkin'

My favourite pair of shoes but sadly they are falling apart. They've made their way through two continents.

Nice is Nice

Happy happy Friday. Aren't you glad this week is over?! I certainly am. To celebrate I'm posting pics of my trip to Nice. Not a whole lot to do in Nice but the view and weather is spectacular. Hope you all have a fantastic Oscar weekend!

Frankfurt am Main

Not the most exciting city in Germany. I was here not by choice...for work. So you have to make the best of it. Definitely the city with the most skyscrapers in Germany. Makes sense considering that it is the financial hub...home to the European Central Bank. More exciting photos coming tomorrow!

Nazare, Portugal

When my friends came to visit two years ago we decided to head to Portugal for a few days. Nazare was the last spot on our trip. We never planned to come here. We just picked a city closest to the ocean and looked it up. Within moments we headed to the bus station (a very dodgy place by the way) and on the next bus to Nazare. We only spent one night here but that was plenty. Definitely a summer holiday town. Not much to do but hit the beach, drink and party. As you enter there are gypsies everywhere trying to rent you their apartment. Be firm.

Castelló d'Empúries

A work team building event brought me to this beautiful region in the north part of Catalunya. We stayed in the yellow house below. It was massive, housing 14 of us. One morning a few of us decided to go for a bike ride and we ended up along the coast. A very beautiful view.

Going Dutch

Putting aside the drugs and the red light district, Amsterdam is truly a beautiful city rich in culture and history. If you want a one of a kind experience head over during the Queens Day weekend celebrations and you'll see the city transform into street/canal party. Another great thing about this city is how the bikes outnumber the cars.

He's also popular in Europe.

In between Europe and Asia: Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul definitely has a special vibe and still stands out in my memory from all my travels. It has this unique mix of European and Asian influences unlike any other city, perhaps due to the fact that the city lies on both continents. Random thought: I don't think I've ever seen so many strayed cats in my life.
Istanbul was one of the nominated cities of culture last year and there is no doubt why. Although I didn't appreciate the 45EUR tourist tax at the airport and the immigration officer that flipped back and forth through my passport comparing my hair styles over the course of 5 years. Yes it started short and then I grew it and then I cut it. Naturally. This happens over time dear officer.  Fotos from another great city tomorrow. Enjoy your Sunday! p.s. can you guss what this is?

Futbol Stud

Honestly why is there so much fuss about Futbo?!
p.s. I have a great selection of photos coming up for you from a few of my travels. Tomorrow I spot a city that sits in both Europe and Asia. Care to guess?

Your Place or Mine

Does it matter? The real question is WHEN. This was spotted at the H&M on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Don't ask me why we were at an H&M of all places in Paris. Apparently this shop was designed by some famous guy. Happy Friday everyone. xo

Sacré-Cœur

One of the sketchiest days of my life. I was afraid of getting robbed or beaten up or both. Just so many weirdos around this neighbourhood amongst the beauty and the splendid view. In the end I was almost robbed on the way to the metro but luckily my dear friend and I fought back and escaped in one piece and with only a bruised shoulder. The whole time we kept telling each other 'get me off this island'. That's what it felt like. A completely separate island. Never a dull moment. oh Paris

Bar Pasajes

This is by far one of the coolest and weirdest passageways I've seen. For one it's completely covered and for two there is a bar situated in the most unimaginable of places. I guess it must be nice to come down from your flat to a hot cup of coffee. My friend and I have always walked by it and we finally decided to sit down and have a coffee. To my surprise it was actually nice cup of coffee. It was an experience for sure.

Tour-Eiffel

I've been to Paris a few times in my life and this one takes the cake. I was traveling with my dear friend from Toronto and we had such an amazing time together. It was just like old times. We attracted some weirdos including a gorilla that opted to ruin my photo. Not this one obviously.

Happy Valentines Day!

I'm usually not a fan of Valentines Day...no exception this year. I guess it's partly because I happen to be single when it comes around. The only fond memories I have of this Hallmark holiday are from elementary school when your parents forced you to give a Valentines Day card to everyone in your class. It's nice to be nice. Now I've grown up and come to the realization that we live in a cruel world....but I've also come to the realization that lovers may come and go but your friends are there for life. Enjoy and be happy with life! Eat some dessert! Treat yourself. To my friends all over the world, a big hug and kiss from me to you! xo

Sunny Sunday

What a beautiful Sunday. 16 degrees celsius and the sun is shining so I decided to go for a nice long run along the beach. In total I ran 6.5km. I finished the run here and took a moment to catch my breath and enjoy the air. In the picture below you'll notice the famous statue of Christopher Columbus pointing towards America (in reality he's not really pointing towards America...he's pointing towards the sea which is East).

I'm walking on sunshine!

I have been in France the last week and have so many wonderful photos to post from Paris and Clermont-Ferrard but I couldn't resist putting this one up today. I was in a cafe all afternoon doing some work and took this picture on my way home. It's so warm and beautiful. I hope it stays this way until summer. That would be fantastic. Hope you are all having a lovely Saturday!

Hotel Louvre

I've been away the last week traveling; partly work, partly leisure. I met up with my dear friend from Toronto in Paris. This was our first night shortly after we met each other. It felt like no time has passed...we picked up where we left off. There is something I really like about puddles and the reflection. I managed to capture this great shot of my dear friend in one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods of Paris outside Hotel Louvre.

Sunny winter morning...

Today was a day of protest and strike for some unions and I learned that the hard way. I showed up at my usual metro stop only to find that there was no service. I took this photo while I walked to the next stop on the line. What a beautiful sunny morning it was today! One of those morning you appreciate being awake. Photo taken near Casa Fuster, cerca de Diagonal.
