Paris, je t'aime!

My opinion of Paris and Parisiens have changed over the years and continue to do so. They can be seen as being arrogant, snobbish, rude and that exists to an extent but I've also come across some really nice, friendly and helpful people who share the beauty of the city. Especially my trip last week made me appreciate Paris a bit more than usual. I was alone and so I let myself go for a stroll and people watch. It was one of the best experiences. No pressure. No stress. Just slow and go whichever the wind blows.

Next Leg

Although tempting, it was a bit chilly to take a dip that morning.

What a great morning to wake up to. The sun is shining, the air is crips. What more could you ask for?

After a delicious and filling breakfast we were ready to plan the next leg of our trip, with a hot cup of coffee.

I was surprised to see there was a post box for such a deserted town (if you could call it that).

We rushed over to the town of Uzès to grab some dinner before everything shut down for the night.

Don't you just love it when your parents hang up your art work? I thought this was very cute and naturally had to photograph it.

Le Jardin

The colours and the view are just priceless. Gives you that feeling of the simple life. The last picture was actually the view from the shower. Talk about a tranquil experience.

A pit stop in the country...

On our road trip through the South of France we made a night pit stop in this beautiful country house in the middle of nowhere (Gattigues). Well to be exact it was 7km north of Uzès. The house was rented by a Swedish woman and her French husband Olivier who together run this bed and breakfast. We woke up to a beautiful breakfast in the garden. Great place to be to chill and relax and start the day right. The hosts were super friendly and not to mention their quirky/weird sense of humour. Loved it! You can check it out here: http://www.i-escape.com/les-sardines-aux-yeux-bleus/overview#location

Chanel Academy

We found ourselves at what appeared to be the Chanel Academy. What actually happens inside is anyones guess. One can speculate that this is where the brainwashing happens before you can start to work for Chanel. And that pathway into the garden...doesn't it look very magical? After a few minutes of ooing and ahhing it was time to hit the road and continue on our road trip. As you can tell from the first photo, it was a brutally windy day and it didn't help my allergies one bit.

St. Tropez afternoon...

Here are more pics from my trip to St. Tropez. What a great way to spend the afternoon...going for a stroll and discovering. Despite the wind, it was a great day to be in St. Tropez.

Lunch in St. Tropez

If there is one thing I can't live without it's food...(and my camera to photograph food). I absolutely love it. When I was recently in St. Tropez we stopped at this restaurant for lunch and I have to say it was one of the most amazing meals I've ever had. The quality of the presentation to quality of the food was just absolutely amazing.

St. Tropez

A sneak peek from my trip to the South of France. I have to say the people here in St. Tropez were much friendlier than in Cannes. The only thing is the weather was not so pleaseant. High winds!

French Vistas

How I miss watching those southern France sunsets over a glass of wine.

Sunny Days and Mondays

It doesn't have to be a rainy Monday like that old song. I say start the week fresh with a five star attitude. To help you here are some sunny pics from Nice. I would love to own that Vespa by the way.

Nice is Nice

Happy happy Friday. Aren't you glad this week is over?! I certainly am. To celebrate I'm posting pics of my trip to Nice. Not a whole lot to do in Nice but the view and weather is spectacular. Hope you all have a fantastic Oscar weekend!

Your Place or Mine

Does it matter? The real question is WHEN. This was spotted at the H&M on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Don't ask me why we were at an H&M of all places in Paris. Apparently this shop was designed by some famous guy. Happy Friday everyone. xo

Sacré-Cœur

One of the sketchiest days of my life. I was afraid of getting robbed or beaten up or both. Just so many weirdos around this neighbourhood amongst the beauty and the splendid view. In the end I was almost robbed on the way to the metro but luckily my dear friend and I fought back and escaped in one piece and with only a bruised shoulder. The whole time we kept telling each other 'get me off this island'. That's what it felt like. A completely separate island. Never a dull moment. oh Paris

Tour-Eiffel

I've been to Paris a few times in my life and this one takes the cake. I was traveling with my dear friend from Toronto and we had such an amazing time together. It was just like old times. We attracted some weirdos including a gorilla that opted to ruin my photo. Not this one obviously.
